The Association began in a small rented place at worli, subsequently shifted to Shivaji Park, Dadar.
In 2005 the Association is shifted to its own premise at Shreeram Industrial Estate, G.D.Ambekar Marg,Wadala. The strength of the membership is growing year by year and at present, it is more than 8000 hoteliers in Greater Mumbai and an equal number of sister associations, affiliates, and other associations through out the country. Our members includes small hotel to medium, large to 3 star hotels.

Our Objective is to bring all the small, medium, large eateries and hotels under one platform,we fight for their rights and against injustice, we make them aware the basic rules and regulation, update and assist them to run their business smoothly.

Indian Hotel & Restaurant Association was started by a group of hoteliers to safe guard their interest and unite the hoteliers
2005

Today
Largest Association of Hotel & Restaurant owners in India with affiliations through out Maharashtra and having a membership of 8000 Hotel & Restaurant owners.

President of AHAR.
Dear Members,
Shri Sukesh Shetty has been recently elected unanimously as the new President of AHAR by the members of the association. Shri Sukesh Shetty is very eager to take up his new responsibilities in the new role with immediate effect. AHAR as a hospitality body has been making waves with its recent success of AHAR Hospitality Expo 2023 event, and the credit goes all the team members according to Shri Sukesh Shetty.
He firmly believes being connected to all the member will create unity and forthcomingness. And the best way to achieve this is through a digital connectivity. This will help to connect with members on a regular basis.
Shri Sukesh Shetty’s vision is based on four legs called ‘PEGS,’ which are to PROTECT the members by eliminating redundant rules & regulations, EMPOWER them to follow the laws diligently and GROWTH of their businesses by encouraging them to upgrade and develop their businesses using the latest technology to grow exponentially, and to deliver timely SERVICE to members. In his new role, Shri Sukesh Shetty has taken the initiative to execute his responsibilities and has planned meetings to address AHAR’s important matters.

Working of AHAR
AHAR have 10 Zones spread over the Greater Mumbai. Each Zone is headed by a Vice President. The Managing Committee is elected in a democratic way every year through an election process.
The office bearer includes the Presidents, 10 Vice Presidents Hon. Gen. Secretary, Hon. Jt Secretary, Hon Treasurer and Hon Jt Treasurer. The Ex Presidents are the advisors to the Association providing their valuable guidance whenever required.
AHAR is having 11 sub committees like Police, Excise, MCGM, Media, Promotion, Membership drive etc. Each committee is headed by an expert member of the subject. The Ex officials of various departments were also enrolled in the penal for their guidance/suggestions etc in various matters.
